Not Just Tigers at Pench

When in Pench, it is not just about Tigers! Waking up to natural sounds, taking cues from all creations of Mother Earth, witnessing the animal kingdom being perfectly in sync with sunrise and sunset, sighting various species during jeep safaris, and living it up every bit the instinctive way is the Pench experience for you! In this itinerary, you can also hand-pick oranges at an orange orchard, visit the ancient temple of Ramtek and explore the unknown excavation site at Mansar.
Day 1: Arrive in Nagpur and head to the Sillari village on the boundary of Pench Tiger Reserve. Unload and check in to the forest resort. Calm your hungry systems to a delectable lunch. Towards evening, freshen up with some tea and hop into the jeep for a guided jeep safari inside the reserve. You are in the jungle; be aware and be alert! Look for tigers' presence in the jungle. You would know they are around through their pugmarks, scratch marks on trees, and alarm calls by deers. If you don't find them, don't be disappointed, the jungle has more equally beautiful sights to offer.
Day 2: While in the jungle, allow the animals to lead by example. Start your day early and set out for a morning jeep safari. The forest changes colour throughout the day. It looks very different in the mornings with all the animals active from early hours. Feed yourselves to a yummy, packed breakfast in the forest. Return to Sillari for lunch.

Thereafter, transfer to the Madhya Pradesh side of the Tiger Reserve through Turia village. Though part of the same forest range, as we start going a bit northwards, the forest type and terrain changes as you enter Madhya Pradesh. Having come this far, you wouldn't want to miss the experience of visiting one of the best managed Tiger Reserves in the country. Take the evening jeep safari ride there. Return to the resort for dinner.
Day 3: After two consecutive days on safaris, today is break day. Explore the surroundings of the resort and go on a bird-watching trail on foot. The citric and juicy fruit, Orange, is a delight from the Nagpur district. We often buy the fruit from shops or consume it as bottled juice. Today is your dream chance to pluck and eat them directly from the trees. Pick and taste oranges as you trail around a nearby village.
Day 4: Relish a sumptuous breakfast at the resort. Check out of the resort and the Tiger Reserve and start back to Nagpur. En route, call on the divine energies at the ancient temple at Ramtek, and stop over at Mansar to learn about the newly discovered, 2200-years old excavation site; both these archaeological wonders are highly recommended.
